Detox Your Skin and Body the Juice Beauty Way

March 18, 2014

Your fabulous and beautiful skin is your body’s largest organ and we want to provide you with some simple tips to keep your skin glowing and radiant! Of course we could go on forever on how to detox your skin and body, but we’ll start here with some simple tips on matching antioxidants.

Get our simple tips below!

Matching Antioxidants: Remember your Grandma telling you to always buy matching purses and shoes? Or to always wear matching undies in case you get in an accident? Well, how about matching your antioxidants? That’s right….matching antioxidants inside and out. Eat/drink and place them on your skin to make sure your body is getting all of the nutrients it needs.

For your “inside” antioxidants, add an apple to your juicer or smoothie routine! This will sweeten that kale juice or plain yogurt, and don’t forget to add the skin of the apple which contains the most polyphenols and flavonoids. All are great for cancer and heart disease prevention.

For your “outside” antioxidants, indulge in a Juice Beauty Green Apple Peel. This will give you the same polyphenols, flavonoids, and malic acid smoothie and nutrients on the outside of your body as on the inside. Choose organic apples for your smoothie and your skincare to avoid pesticides.

Other simple nutrition tips include eating healthy servings of fruits and vegetables at least twice a day. If you vary the colors of your fruits and veggies, you’ll naturally vary the vitamins and minerals you take in. Greatly limit processed foods, red meats, butter, creams and white sauces to avoid artery clogging saturated fats. If you’re not gluten intolerant, eat whole grains to get your B Vitamins and fiber. A high fiber diet is a great detox plan!

Try to limit sugar. If you routinely eat too many high glycemic index foods, (white sugar, white breads/grains, sweets) the body is forced to produce excess insulin to get rid of that extra glucose. This can lead to weight gain and help contribute to lifestyle related health problems.

Last but certainly not least… drink water and lots of it to stay hydrated throughout the day!
