A Primer Your Face Will Love

THE PRODUCT

Juice Beauty Phyto-Pigments Illuminating Primer.

THE PROMISE

This lightweight, silicone-free primer preps skin for makeup and also acts as an anti-aging serum that illuminates, smooths lines and wrinkles, and blurs imperfections for a flawless complexion.

HOW IT WORKS

All natural and organic, a base, comprised of botanical juices, waxes and powders, is infused with plant-derived pigments and cold-pressed oils. Fruit stem-cell technology provides anti-aging benefits, while cold-pressed oils are highly hydrating, and coconut alkanes work to add luminosity to the formula. Vegan and free of silicone, it has no artificial fragrance, gluten, talc or parabens.

HOW TO USE IT

Smooth over face using fingertips or a makeup sponge.

THE BOTTOM LINE

In case you didn’t already know, Gwyneth Paltrow is the creative director of Juice Beauty makeup, and this is one of her favorite products. How do I know? Because she told me. Not in a canned statement issued via press release nor on her Goop website, but in an uncomfortably close (for her, not me) face-to-face interview. Turns out she looks as good in person as she does onscreen and in the magazines. It’s like the woman practically renders Photoshop useless – and apparently it’s because she wears this primer. It really does do wonders for the skin. At first, it can be daunting when you squeeze out a pump because it looks quite glittery, but once on the skin it melts in and creates a lit-from-within glow. It also glides on easily and, since it’s not silicone- based, doesn’t feel plasticky. You’re left with smooth, flawless-looking skin and a natural radiance. And all without having to steam your hoo-ha, go macrobiotic or do any of the other wacky things Gwynnie is known for. Hey, we may be friends now, but I can still be honest with her.
