EWG’s Annual Earth Dinner in San Francisco celebrates EWG’s achievements in shaping environmental policy, protecting consumers against toxic exposures, and providing the information needed to protect you and your family’s health.

One in three Americans will be diagnosed with cancer, yet nearly half of all cancers are preventable. Along with genetics, diet, lifestyle and viruses, exposures to toxic chemicals clearly contribute to this epidemic.
It’s time to rethink how we talk about cancer.
Margaret L. Kripke, Ph.D.: Professor of Immunology and Vivian Smith Chair Emerita, at The University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center. In 2003, Dr. Kripke was appointed by President Bush as a member of the 3-person President’s Cancer Panel, a group that advises the White House on the status and needs of the cancer problem in America and served in this role until 2011. She retired from M.D. Anderson in 2009 and served as the Chief Scientific Officer of the Cancer Prevention and Research Institute of Texas from 2013-2016.
Michelle Pfeiffer: Golden Globe Award winner and three-time Academy Award nominee. As an advocate for the Environmental Working Group since its inception, she is thrilled to be part of this special evening.
